A Bubbler!

I decided to get a bubbler for the tank. The internal filter that I was using to create surface disturbance died on me and I decided to get a bubbler to replace it. Her other filter is rated for quadruple the amount of water I have in there, so it is more than enough.

I bought this bubbler (link) and I quite like it! I picked this one because the air pump was external to the tank, I didn’t want to add a lot of noise in there.

So, set-up was super easy! It comes with the air pump, air tube, bubble/air stone, and a check valve. You don’t need the check valve if you are placing the air pump above the level of the water. I put it in anyway so I would have flexibility. You soak the bubble stone for an hour or so, then cut the tube to put in the check valve, slide all the tubing on and you are ready to go!

Cosetta loves it! She swims through it a lot, chases the bubbles, and she likes to rest on the vines so that the bubbles go around her.

It also has the added benefit of helping the water stay clear. The bubbler really oxygenates the water and helps the beneficial bacteria flourish, increasing the amount of bad bacteria that is “eaten”.

All in all, would rate 10/10! I might get a larger bubble stone later, so she can have more bubbles.
